Eighth Annual Hershel Walker Awards Breakfast
The annual awards of this breakfast are presented in memory of Hershel
Walker, Missouri Communist leader who devoted his life to the cause
of peace and justice. The breakfasts are always held on or about the
international workingclass holiday of May Day, and recognize community
leaders for their contributions to the cause of peace and justice. This
year's program is devoted to the centennial of Paul Robeson's birth and
will
feature Dr. Margaret Burroughs, founder of the DuSable Museum of African
American History in Chicago. A donation of $10 is requested for the
breakfast; all proceeds to benefit the People's Weekly World, the newspaper
of Hershel Walker.
9:30am-11:30am, Heman Park Community Center, Pennsylvania and Vernon
Admission:
A donation of $10 is requested for tickets; children
under 12, $5; complimentary tickets for unemployed.
