Paul Robeson and Religion: Lecture by S. Daniel Breslauer, Ph.D.
Daniel Breslauer, Professor of Religious Studies, will deliver a
lecture, in Romm 100 Smith Hall, September 16, focusing on the view of
religion expressed both in Robeson's writings and in his music. His
rescripting of Spirituals will be studied to show how he reshaped
traditional material to fit his religious consciousness. the lecture
will include a brief survey of Robeson's life.
