- Newark -- Saturday, April 18 -- broadcast
Paul Robeson - The Peace Arch Concerts on WVUD Radio
Music and excerpts of speeches of this newly issued CD of the
1952 and 1953 concerts that Paul Robeson gave from a flatbed truck for
40,000 Canadians and Americans. His passport revoked because of his
political views, Robeson and the Mine, Mill, and Smelters Union
arranged the concerts to take place in Blaine, Washington, at the
Peace Arch Park, one foot from the Canadian Border. The speeches give
a compelling account of Robeson's struggle to be heard.
